摘要
20世纪前,糖尿病好似一道魔咒,一旦患上就等于慢性自杀。从1921年成功提取胰岛素开始,人类用了近百年时间,终于解开了这一"甜蜜"魔咒。糖尿病(Mellitus Diabetes)的记载最早出现在公元前1世纪。"Diabetes"在古希腊语中的意为"多尿",后来人们发现糖尿病患者的尿是甜的,又加上了"Mellitus"一词。这种"甜蜜"的疾病,折磨了人类数千年。直到胰岛素问世,才彻底扭转了糖尿病确诊即死亡的魔咒。
Before the 20th century, diabetes was like a curse, and once it was suffered, it was equivalent to chronic suicide. Since the successful extraction of insulin in 1921, it took nearly a hundred years for human beings to finally solve this "sweet" curse.
