摘要
As the threat of climate change on the sustainability of human society continues to grow, carbon emissions have become a major global issue of common concern to the international community. The European Union,China,Japan,South Korea, and Canada have successively announced timelines for achieving carbon neutrality. On April 22,Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the Leaders Summit on Climate via video and delivered an important speech.“China will strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060,”he pledged.“China has committed to move from carbon peak to carbon neutrality in a much shorter time span than what might take many developed countries, and that requires extraordinarily hard efforts from China.”Over the years,China has made significant contributions to sectors such as energy, construction, transportation, and greening through continuous efforts. However, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality are not just for state government or certain industries, but pose challenges for all of society that require action from everyone living on the earth. The“dual carbon”goals are so closely related to daily life that we must change lifestyles to ensure they are met.Let us work hand in hand to create a carbon-free future.
