"非洲性"即非洲共享的文化特性,不仅涉及非洲大陆所共享的文化传统和人们表现出来的非洲意识,还指向传播至世界各地的非洲文化及其特性的总和,包括物质文化和精神文化。"非洲性"是非裔美国文学中的永恒主题。现代非裔美国作家在继承和弘扬祖源地文化传统的同时,结合新的社会语境和非裔美国人的历史经历,再造、重写"非洲性",丰富了其中的内涵,彰显了"非洲性"的多重维度和复杂性。

“Africanity” generally means the cultural traits shared in Africa.“Africanity”not only involves the cultural traditions shared in the African Continent and the sense of Africa by its people but also refers to the totality of African cultural components,material and spiritual,which has been disseminated to other parts of the world.“Africanity”remains the constant theme in African American literature.Modem African American writers,exploiting the historical experiences of African American people,rewrite or even reinvent“Africanity”in the new social context while carrying forward the ancestral traditions.Their writings have enriched the connotations of“Africanity”,shedding light on the multiple dimensions and complexity of the concept.
