Bakhtin’s polyphonic novel theory and its aftereffect

米哈伊尔·巴赫金(1895—1975)是苏联著名哲学家、文化学家、语言学家、文艺理论家,被认为是20世纪最伟大的思想家之一,他在哲学、美学、诗学、语言学、文化史以及人类学等学科领域均有重大建树。他的《陀思妥耶夫斯基诗学问题》一书通过研究陀思妥耶夫斯基的小说创作,浓缩而深刻地阐释了复调小说理论,发现和论证了一种超出小说体裁范围以外的特殊的复调艺术思维,反映了俄罗斯文论以至整个人文研究的长足进步。

Mikhail Bakhtin(1895-1975) was a famous Soviet philosopher, culturologist, linguist and literary theorist. He was regarded as one of the greatest thinkers in the 20 th century. He has made great achievements in philosophy, aesthetics, poetics, linguistics, cultural history and anthropology. Through the study of Dostoyevsky’s novel writing, his book The problem of Dostoyevsky’s Poetics expounded the polyphonic novel theory in a condensed and profound way, discovered and demonstrated a special polyphonic artistic thinking beyond the scope of novel genre, and reflected the great progress of Russian literary theory and the whole humanistic study.
