By using the methods of literature review and logical analysis,this paper studied the development experience of sporting events in Shanghai and its enlightenment to the development of sports events in other cities.The positive impacts of sporting events on Shanghai's urban development mainly include promoting urban economic development,expanding urban brand effect,optimizing urban spatial layout,and boosting urban social vitality.The main development experience of sporting events in Shanghai is to attach importance to the agglomeration development of sporting events,the development of brand sporting events,the construction of sports venues and facilities,and the marketoriented reform of sporting events.The implications for the development of sports events in other cities are as follows:They should build a sports event system,create sports brand events,strengthen the construction of sports venues,and innovate the development mode of sporting events.
