The Great Journey,the pioneering attempt to celebrate the 100 th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China,breaks the time and space limit of performance to re-position the major artistic performance and erects a brand new coordinate,switching from the Great Hall of the People to the National Stadium and from the"music and dance epic"to"situational epic". Firstly,it creates a performance space with great momentum,making use of the ring structure of the"Bird’s Nest"and the three-dimensional stage built as a whole to bring an all-round,multi-angle and immersive viewing space for the audience. Secondly,driven by the technology,it leads the innovation of image vision,interweaves the reality of history with the reality of art,generates the possibility for the super-large on-site stage space to express multiple depth-of-field and thus creates the "third space"deeply integrated into the stage performance.Thirdly,it educates people with the history of the Party to fully stimulate the expression potential of the participating students,transforms a grand literary and art performance into the most vivid education on the history of the Party,and endows the grand performance space with eternal life and affection. The Great Journey directly triggers and drives the innovation of major performance style through the great change in the performance time and space. Such enlightens us that we must work hard to seek for new breakthroughs with artistic expression as the center by getting rid of the inertial concept rather than keep the boundary of traditional art.
