弥纶古今:夏承焘先生的词律研究——以遗著《词例》为中心

Covering the Ancient and Modern:Mr.Xia Chengtao’s Ci Rhythm Research--Centring on His Posthumous Work Ci Li

一代词宗夏承焘先生的词律研究引人瞩目,尤其是四声方面,通贯而精深:既继承了清代中期以来的韵律研究轨范,又结合近代学术的严密论证,可谓系统而深邃,在近现代词学史上独树一帜。其遗著《词例》一书久负盛名。此书作为一部模仿俞樾《古书疑义举例》而作的词律研究专书,不但体例独特,而且广征博引,涵盖古今诸多词学著作、论文、手迹,还附有夏先生按语,手眼非凡。本书涵盖词律学各个方面,其研究亦多有创见,如去声作平、叶古音等,是一部十分重要的词学著作,意义甚是宏远。然此书手稿影印出版已过三载,学界尚未注意此书的巨大价值,夏先生的词律学思想与成就,也有待学者们进一步的研究与发展。

Mr.Xia Chengtao,a famous scholar,has made remarkable research on Ci rhyme,especially in the aspect of tone rhyme,which is consistent and profound:it not only inherits the research track of rhyme and meter since the middle of Qing Dynasty,but also combines the rigorous demonstration of modern academic studies,which can be said to be systematic and profound,and is unique in the history of modern Ci study.His last book,Ci Li,has long been famous.This book,as a special book on Ci rhymes,imitates Yu Yue’s examples of doubts in ancient books,not only has a unique style,but also quote and prove extensively,covering many ancient and modern Ci works,papers,handwritings,and notes by Mr.Xia,which is of high value.This book covers all aspects of the study of Ci rhymes,and its research is also full of original ideas,such as the fourth tone of the flat tone,ancient pronunciation,etc.It is a very important work on the study of Ci and is of great significance.Although this manuscript has been published in photocopy for two years,the academic world has not paid attention to the great value of it,and Mr.Xia’s thoughts and achievements in Ci rhymes have yet to be further studied and developed by scholars.
