In ancient times,temples and Buddhist doctors played an important role in medical treatment services.Buddhist doctors studied Buddhism doctrines and simultaneously undertook medical practices.They were monks and also doctors.They carried forward Buddhism doctrines and also practiced medicine.Once the outbreak of any plague in ancient times,they particularly contributed a lot.The mercy and compassion doctrines of Buddhism were fully implemented among them.Buddhist doctors have contributed to the development of Buddhism and ancient Chinese medicine.
