The Historical Construction and Systematic Interpretation of Chinese Architecture Liang Sicheng’s Academic Contributions to the Field of“Architectural History and Theories”

梁思成先生对中国建筑历史建构、体系研究、理论阐述、学术发展、建筑教育、建筑创作、历史保护诸方面均做出重大贡献,文章仅就梁先生在建筑历史与理论研究领域两个基本方面:中国建筑史史学建构与中国建筑唐宋与明清两个体系之结构与术语学术阐释方面,所做重要学术贡献加以扼要梳理分析,或可以此初步了解梁先生在近现代中国建筑学术史上所起重要影响与关键作用。

Professor Liang Sicheng has made distinct contributions to the historical construction and systematic interpretation of Chinese architecture,as well as to theoretical elaboration,academic development,architectural education,architecture design and the historic preservation.This paper exclusively focuses on the two basic aspects of architectural history and theories,namely the historical construction and structural and terminological interpretation of Chinese architecture in Tang/Song and Ming/Qing systems,respectively.It provides preliminary understandings of Professor Liang’s important influences and the key role he played out in the academic history of modern Chinese architecture.
