This paper mainly introduces the requirements and test methods of ESD shut-off valve in safety instrument system,and focuses on the application of partial stroke test solenoid valve in actual production process. Today, when safety and cost are very important, it is the direction pursued by the field instrument specialty to achieve a higher SIL level with less hardware. The solenoid valve with PST function not only provides the digital solution of ESD control valve, but also better ensures the safe and stable operation of the field device. With the development of functional safety technology and engineering application, the intelligent solenoid valve with PST function will be applied in a wider range, and the ESD control valve will maintain and continue a high SIL level, showing users all the safety value including reducing cost.
