心怀"国之大者",是习近平总书记关于新时代治国理政的一个重要政治理念。"国之大者"的提出,是直面当前我国社会主要矛盾提出的"新药方",是新发展阶段党和国家一切工作的指挥棒,是对全党尤其是中高级领导干部提出的政治要求。所谓"国之大者",就是那些事关党和国家长治久安的国之大业,事关中国特色社会主义前途命运的国之大计,事关中国共产党治国理政的国之大纲。作为一种治国理政的智慧,"国之大者"的核心是要从政治高度来观察和思考问题,它意味着中国进入新发展阶段后政治逻辑的变化:"民心是最大的政治"取代了"现代化是最大的政治"。

Caring about"matters of vital importance to China"is an important political concept proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the governance of China in the new era.This concept is a"new prescription"made up in the face of the main social contradictions in China currently,the guidance for all the work of the Party and state in the new development stage,and a political requirement for the whole Party,especially the middle and high-level leading officials.The so-called"matters of vital importance to China"refers to the great causes having a bearing on the long-term stability of the Party and state,the national plans relating to socialism with Chinese characteristics,and the national outline of the CPC for governing the country.As a kind of wisdom of governance,the core of the"matters of vital importance to China"is to observe and think about problems from a political perspective.It means a change of the political logic after China enters a new stage of development:"people’s support is the greatest politics"instead of"modernization is the greatest politics".
