The social identity and self-identity formed by career criminals during their social interaction with others have a significant impact on whether they will continue to offend. They feel socially excluded when interacting with ordinary people, employers, colleagues, ones dating for marriage or their family members. In the meantime, their repeated crimes, disobedience to persuasion and refusal to change have caused their family members to change from dissuading and swaying at first to complete disappointment and and giving up at last. The “reasonable” rejection and “helpless” giving up of the society and their families made this group of people passively withdraw from the normal society and actively turn to the “gray circle”, becoming one of “repeat offenders” who make a living by crimes. The interaction process between the society and career criminals has become an endless loop of “mutual cause and effect” and “mutual harm”.
