Improving the English reading ability of junior high school students is one of the more important links in English teaching.The quality and efficiency of English reading directly affect students’English vocabulary accumulation,writing level and comprehensive English ability.Therefore,teachers use more novel and efficient teaching methods,focusing on cultivating students’English reading ability and the accumulation of vocabulary,which can effectively improve students’overall English level and learning effect.This article will use five teaching methods to create life situations,strengthen extracurricular reading,guide students to guess Chinese translation of words,use multimedia teaching,and question guidance to explore specific strategies on how to effectively teach vocabulary in junior high school English reading teaching.
