在全球自然环境和社会环境日益恶化的今天,我们越来越需要将目光投向这片与人类休戚与共的土地。同时,我们也不得不承认一个事实,如今的生态环境恶化与西方世界对“发展”的无限度追求有着千丝万缕的联系,西方殖民者在后殖民时代对第三世界的生态掠夺和资源侵占更是给这些地区带来了生态浩劫。高希的小说《饿浪潮》自问世以来,就被众多学者视为在后殖民研究和生态批评领域之间“相互构成的沉默”。小说揭露了殖民者的霸权行径和种族迫害,试图打破西方世界在人与自然之间所构建的藩篱。

With the deterioration of the global natural and social environment today,we need to focus more and more on this land where we share weal and tear with humanity.At the same time,we also have to admit the fact that today's ecological and environmental deterioration is inextricably linked to the western world's endless pursuit of"development".The ecological plundering and resource occupation of the Third World by western colonists in the post colonial era has brought ecological havoc to these areas.Since Ghosh's novel The Hungry Tide was published,it has been regarded by many scholars as"mutual silence"between postcolonial research and eco-criticism.The novel exposes the hegemony and racial persecution of the colonists,trying to break the barrier between man and nature in the Western world.
