In optical fiber communication system,the main reason for communication interruption is the fault of optical cable line.When dealing with the fault location of optical cable line,we should use OTDR to analyze the cause of the fault,determine the cause and troubleshoot.This paper expounds the use of OTDR to analyze the common faults in optical cable lines so as to improve the ability of on-site maintenance personnel to deal with the faults.
