河洛地区民间碑刻彰显的乡绅赈灾懿行

Disaster-relief Efforts of the Gentry Reflected in Folk Inscriptions in Heluo Area

河洛地区许多祠堂内散落着清代、民国时期民间的诸多碑刻。其中,有许多碑刻记载了乡绅在灾年的懿德善行。如丁戊奇荒,乡绅布善行;癸酉凶灾,善人施懿德;卅年重灾,善人有担当等。受中国优秀传统文化尤其是儒家思想的影响,民间慈善事业源远流长,且具有规范性、持续性和相对稳定性。

Folk inscriptions of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China are scattered in many ancestral halls in Heluo area,many of which recorded the virtues and good deeds of the landed gentry during disaster years.For instance,1877 and 1878 were hit by severe drought and famine,and the gentry conducted charity work;in 1933,men of virtue performed good deeds;during thirty years of disaster,men of virtue shouldered their responsibilities.Influenced by China′s traditional culture,especially Confucianism,folk philanthropy enjoys a long history,featuring regularity,normalization,sustainability and stability.
