越南杨琳《野史》一书中的文章接近中国十九世纪末流行的“报章体”,属于面向大众的文言文,不加修饰,虽题为《野史》,却不是无稽之谈的稗官野史,而是真实可信的新闻报导散文。此书从先进科学技术的应用、天文和地球的科学知识,以及海外见闻(奇迹奇俗奇人)三个方面介绍西方文明。

The article in the Unofficial History by Yang Lin of Vietnam is close to the"newspaper style"popular in China at the end of the 19th century.It belongs to the classical Chinese for the public without modification.Although it is entitled Unofficial History,it is not a nonsense unofficial history,but a real and credible news report prose.This book introduces western civilization from three aspects:the application of advanced science and technology,scientific knowledge of astronomy and the earth,and overseas knowledge(miracles,strange customs and strange people).
