Objective To systematically review the epidemiological characteristics of anemia in Chinese community-based oldest-old population(≥80 years). Methods The literature review was conducted by using Wanfang Data,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),China Biology Medicine(CBM),VIP,PubMed,Cochrane Library and Embase database. Two reviewers independently screened and extracted literature data, then assessed quality of included studies.Meta package in R4.02 software was used to perform meta-analysis.Results A total of 8 studies involving 49324 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that the prevalence of anemia in in Chinese community-based oldest-old population was 30.01%(95%CI 20.05%to 43.00%),in which 32.92%(95%CI 21.06%to 47.43%)was male and 24.69%(95%CI 14.09%to 39.60%)was female. The prevalence of anemia was 28.52%(95%CI 15.27%to 46.90%)in the elderly aged 80 to 89,44.31%(95%CI 30.38%to 59.20%)in the elderly aged 90 to 99,and 63.11%(95%CI 51.45%to 73.42%)in centenarians. Conclusion The prevalence of anemia is high in Chinese community-based oldest-old population, which should be attached more importance in the prevention and control anemia.
