在美国,社会各界于每年3月纪念庆祝"妇女历史月",宣传美国妇女历史,提倡"两性平等"观念,提升妇女问题关注度。部分公共图书馆亦参与其中,开展相关推广活动、馆藏资源推荐以及图书馆宣传工作。通过对相关工作的梳理与分析,发现美国公共图书馆注重合作与专业发展并善于发挥品牌活动优势,此外,在为社会需求服务的同时,也注重丰富图书馆体验,使图书馆服务价值最大化,并传播图书馆相关历史,为图书馆树立良好的社会形象。

In the United States,people of all walks of life celebrate"Women's History Month"in March every year to publicize American women's history,promote the concept of"gender equality"and raise the awareness of women's issues.Some public libraries also host promotion activities,provide collections recommendation service and pay attention to librarianship publicity.Cases analysis shows that American librarianship think highly of Multilateral cooperation and professional development,and make best of the advantages of brand activities.In addition,while striving hard to satisfy the social demands,American public libraries attach importance to improving the public library experience aiming of maximizing the value of library services,and propagating the history of librarianship aiming of establishing a good social image for library world.
