After the death of George Floyd, the "Black Lives Matter"(BLM) movement quickly spread from the United States to the rest of the world. As the BLM involved race, human rights, social justice, and many other aspects, its expansion from the US was not a mere duplication but a refraction. Therefore, this study selects reports on the BLM from the Wall Street Journal and Le Figaro and the relevant Facebook comments, using social network analysis to examine the network agenda-setting effect of media on the public and US media on French media. The study finds that network agenda setting effects of media on the public exist in both countries, with some adjustments for different agendas;the network agenda setting effect of US media on French media is stronger than the effect of media on the public in either country. The study can help to understand transnational social movements and agenda setting effects in the era of social media.
