Non-corrupt Officials from Central China in Governing and Educating Lianyang

自唐至清,韩愈、刘禹锡、李来章等多位载入史册的中州籍官员曾为政瑶族、壮族等少数民族的聚居地粤北连阳,为当地文教、民生发展作出了重要贡献。受儒家思想浸染的循吏不仅将先进文化带入民族地区,教化百姓,而且深入实际,躬行践履,多种举措彰显了士大夫兼济天下的情怀,促进了民族团结与进步。

From the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty,a number of officials from Central China,such as Han Yu,Liu Yuxi,and Li Laizhang,had assumed offices in Lianyang,the gathered settlement of ethnic minorities in northern Guangdong,and contributed to the development of local culture,education,and people’s livelihood.As followers of Confucianism,they not only brought advanced culture to the ethnic regions and cultivated the people,but also practiced them by personal examples.Their activities demonstrated the spirit of the literati and officialdom of helping the world,and promoted national unity and progress in the area.
