摘要
托马斯·哈代在代表作《还乡》中并置了几个对比鲜明的地志空间来展现其象征意义及悲剧场景。这几个对立的地志空间意象构成了一幅多维投射的空间画面,空间在此不单是故事发生的地点,还从不同侧面反映了作者的创作意识,即对资本主义机器文明的抵制和对古老的乡村生活的热爱。地志空间意象为《还乡》的空间理论解读提供了很好的切入点,体现了作者在空间叙事上的精巧构思。同时这几个地志空间增强了故事的悲剧色彩,使小说的社会历史意义和作者的创作意图更加突出,作品的艺术张力和感染力得到了有效的提升。
In The Return of the Native,Hardy juxtaposed several contrasting topographical spaces to show the symbolic meaning of tragic scenes.These opposed geographical spatial images constitute a multi-dimensional spatial picture.The space is not simply the place where the story takes place,but also reflects the author’s creative consciousness from different aspects,resistance to capitalist machine civilization and love for old way of rural life.The topographical image in the novel provides a good perspective for the interpretation of the author’s art in elaborate plotting.At the same time,these topographical spaces can reinforce the tragic color of the story,highlighting its social and historical significance and the author’s intention,and effectively improve the artistic tension and appeal of the work.
