斗茶始于唐代,进入宋、元、明时期,成为上至宫廷,下至民间,普遍盛行的一种以战斗的姿态,展现点茶技术,审评茶叶优劣的方法,所以斗茶又称茗战。斗茶,既要讲究茶品,又要注意择好水,还要注意配好器,更须重视方法和技艺,可谓是我国古代全民评茶的集大成。这种评茶的方式,一直流传至今,仍常为民间采用。

The Chinese culture prospered in the Song Dynasty(960-1279). The othe r day, the CPC Zhe jiang Provincial Committee convened and proposed to start a project to carry on the cultural heritage of the Song Dynasty. Today, the culture of the Song Dynasty can be seen everywhere in our daily life. It is a foundation of our culture, it is omnipresent, and therefore it is a heritage that must be carried on to the future. How do we see the heritage of tea from the Song Dynasty? In this issue, we reexamine the tea games played in the Song, review some cultural gatherings attended by cultural celebrities, and appreciate some tea sets.
