任务复杂度对英语学习者议论文写作表现的影响研究

Effects of Task Complexity on EFL Learners’Argumentative Writing Performance

本研究基于资源指引和资源消耗两个方向,考察任务复杂度对英语学习者议论文写作表现的影响。112名来自中国某理工大学的中等水平英语学习者被分成有准备组和无准备组,完成简单任务和复杂任务议论文写作。研究发现,相较于简单任务议论文写作,学习者复杂任务议论文写作的复杂度提高,流利度和准确度降低;相较于有准备组学习者,无准备组学习者议论文写作的准确度和词汇复杂度降低,流利度提高,句法复杂度没有发生变化;任务元素和任务准备对学习者议论文写作流利度和准确度的交互作用显著。

The study probes into effects of task complexity on the EFL learners’argumentative writing performance.112 English learners of intermediate proficiency from a university of science and technology in China were assigned to a planning group and a non-planning group.Both groups completed a simple writing task and a complex task.The results showed that learners who completed the complex task produced more complex but less fluent and less accurate written production in comparison with those who worked with the simple task.In addition,providing pre-task planning had favorable effects on accuracy and lexical complexity,but disfavorable effects on fluency and no effects on syntactic complexity.It was found that task element and task planning had interaction effects on learners’fluency and accuracy.
