Objective:To evaluate the difference of clinical effect between acupoint catgut embedding and other acupuncture therapies in the treatment of simple obesity. Methods:The databases of CNKI,VIP,WANFANG,SinoMed,PubMed and Cochrane Library were searched by computer. The literature of clinical randomized controlled trials of acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of simple obesity from January 2015 to April 2020 was collected. Two evaluators separately extracted the data and discussed and verified each other according to the requirements of Cochrane system evaluation manual,RevMan 53 software is used to systematically analyze the data. Results:Finally 12 papers meeting the inclusive criteria were included, involving 897 patients with simple obesity. The results of meta-analysis showed that:the total effective rate of acupoint catgut embedding therapy in the treatment of simple obesity was higher than that of other acupuncture therapies, with acombined effect of(RR=1.13,95%CI[1.06,1.20],P<0.0001),reducing the body mass(MD=-2.55,95%CI[-3.64,-1.46],P<0.00001)and BMI index(MD=-0.39,[-0.67,-0.11],P=0.006)were superior to other acupuncture therapies. Conclusion:The clinical effect of acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of simple obesity is better than other acupuncture therapies, and patients benefit more from clinical treatment. It is expected to provide theoretical support for priority alternative therapy of simple obesity.
