Objective:To investigate the problems existing in the use of peripheral indwelling needles in hospitalized children on the first day to provide evidence for avoiding nursing risks. Methods:A self-designed questionnaire was used to conduct a cross-sectional survey.A total of 606 children who were newly admitted to a children's hospital were investigated with indwelling peripheral venous injection. Results:The main site of peripheral venous indwelling needle puncture in children was limbs, accounting for 73.93%.The majority of hospitalized children were 0-3 years old, accounting for 85.31%;Puncture nurses:high seniority accounted for 69.81%,low seniority accounted for 22.94%;573 cases(94.55%)were fixed by plastic film standard.54.46%without auxiliary fixation;502 cases(82.84%)had catheter attachment device.in the use of additional devices, there was a problem in whether the film had rolled edge or not,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The problems of peripheral venous indwelling needles in hospitalized children on the first day are mainly to the blood return of the catheter and apply the coiling edge.It is strongly suggested that nurses should strengthen health education on the safe use of the indwelling needles and take measures to control the risk problems in the process to ensure the effect of the indwelling.
