金钱和时间概念对择偶标准的影响及其性别差异

The Effect of Money and Time Concept on Mate Selection Criteria and It’s Gender Difference

目的:探究金钱和时间概念对个体择偶标准的影响及其性别差异。方法:采用混词组句任务启动500名被试的金钱、时间和中性概念,并完成择偶标准量表。结果:(1)金钱和时间概念启动下,个体的择偶标准均高于中性概念启动组;(2)金钱概念启动下,男性会在家境和收入,女性会在家境、收入、身材、帅气和机智方面显著高于中性概念启动组;时间概念启动下,男性会在收入、年龄、幽默风趣和持家能力方面显著高于中性概念启动组;(3)金钱和时间概念启动下,男性的择偶标准没有显著差异;而金钱概念启动下的女性在家境、职业、帅气、机智和气魄方面提出更高的择偶标准。结论:金钱和时间概念启动下个体会在社会经济地位和外表吸引力等方面提高择偶标准,时间概念启动下个体还会在持家能力上提高择偶标准。此外,男性更容易受到时间概念的影响,女性更容易受到金钱概念的影响。

Objective:To explore the effect of money and time prime on individual’s mate-selection criteria and the gender difference.Methods:A sample of 500 participants were primed the concepts of money and time using the descrambling task,and then they finished the Mate-Selection Criteria Scale(MSCC).Results:(1)The total score of mate selection of money and time prime were higher than the neutral prime;(2)Compared with the neutral prime,the money prime increased the male’s mate selection criteria in wealthy and income and the female’s mate selection criteria in wealthy,income,sexy,handsome and intelligent;the time prime only increased the male participants’mate selection criteria in income,age,sense of humor and housekeeping ability;(3)There was no significant difference in male’s mate-selection criteria compared the money and time prime.However,the female primed with money put forward higher mate selection criteria in four aspects:wealthy,career,handsome,intelligent and verve than those primed with time.Conclusion:Having been primed the concepts of money and time,Individuals’mate-selection criteria about socioeconomic status and attractiveness may increase.What’s more,males are more affected by time concept while females are more affected by money concept.
