中国古代屏风功能演变探究

The Exploration on the Screen Function Evolution in Ancient China

屏风作为中国传统室内陈设用具,早在西周就已出现。汉之后受到历代政治、经济、文化等因素影响,使用范围扩大,逐渐进入民众生活中。屏风的功能也由早期象征统治者权力的礼器发展演变为集装饰美化、分割空间和减缓气流于一体的室内家具。时至今日,研究屏风的审美功能与实用功能依旧能够为现代工艺美术与家具设计的发展提供理论依据与设计灵感。

Screen as the traditional indoor furnishing appliance in our country could be found as early as the Western Zhou Dynasty. Under the influence of politics, economy, culture and other factors after the Han Dynasty, screen’s scope of use have been expanded and gradually entered people’s life. The function of the screen has evolved from the ritual vessels symbolizing the ruler’s power in the early stage to indoor furniture integrating decoration and beautification, space division and air flow reduction. The theoretical basis and design inspiration can still be used for the development of modern arts and crafts as well as furniture design nowadays through the research on the aesthetic and practical functions of screens.
