The development of global economy promotes the rapid development of the oil industry,so the demand for oil English translation is also expanding. This paper analyzes some strategies of Petroleum English translation,so as to provide some theoretical guidance for the future translators who want to engage in Petroleum English translation,so as to correctly express the aims of the original author. The article mainly starts from the following aspects: Newmark’s“functional equivalence theory”;some characteristics of Petroleum English. about Petroleum English translation under the guidance of functional equivalence theory;to make a summary of the whole article.
