Form Phenomenon to Essence: Method and Value in the Study of the History of Design

中国设计史研究摆脱以“现象描述”为基础的狭义理论方法,需要改变理论的探索范式,以扬弃的态度对待世界设计史和中国设计史的研究成果,以此为基础进行新史料的发掘,并将之置于“社会关系网络”中考察,使其具有“陈述”的功能。以现实关怀和清醒的理论意识介入追问“本质”,克服以旧经验推算新结果的弊病,在消除“逻辑的设计史”与“事实的设计史”二元对立中,“重写”中国设计史。

Study of Chinese history of design needs to change the exploration paradigm of the theory in order to get rid of the narrow theoretical method which is based on"phenomenal description".To be specific,it needs to have a critical attitude towards the research results of both international and Chinese history of design and to explore new historical materials,so as to posit it in the"social relationship network"to make it have the function of"narration".An inquiry into the"essence"with realistic consideration and sober theoretical awareness to overcome the shortcoming of figuring out new results from past experience.Therefore,it is possible to"rewrite"Chinese history of design through resolving the binary opposition of"logic history of design"and"factual history of design".
