In this age of globalisation,it is still practically significant to explore women’s literature in the context of world literature. In the first half of the twentieth century,Virginia Woolf and Ling Shuhua appeared to be two‘subversive’women writers in the history of literature. They had a cross-cultural exchange and generated a spark of ideas.Through their literary creations, they both subverted traditional notions of gender, modes of women’s writing, and cultural centrism in literary creation.Based on their gender community, there is the resonance and strength of women writers around the world. This helps them to transcend national and cultural boundaries and to reach their full literary and intellectual potential, thus subverting existing writing patterns and gender stereotypes and jointly contributing to the prosperity of world literature.
