On Great Founding Spirit of the Party as Soul of the Era

习近平总书记在庆祝中国共产党成立100周年大会上的讲话中提出伟大建党精神,这是坚持马克思主义理论的逻辑使然,是总结党的百年奋斗光辉历程的必然结论,是构筑全党为实现第二个百年目标而奋斗强大精神砥柱的时代需要。伟大建党精神内涵丰富,既是中国共产党的先驱们在建党伟大实践中淬炼形成的,也是中国共产党在进行革命、建设和改革长期艰苦奋斗的伟大实践中凝聚而成的。伟大建党精神与党的其他精神系列的关系,从横向看是“源”与“流”的关系,从纵向看是“主干”与“枝干”的关系,从统属关系看是“纲”与“目”的关系,从历史文脉看是民族精神的集中体现与特殊形态的关系,这些精神系列共同构成中国共产党人的精神谱系。继承和发扬伟大建党精神,使中国共产党走过了百年辉煌历程,也必将为党团结带领人民踏上实现第二个百年奋斗目标新的赶考之路,提供源源不断的强大精神力量。

During his speech at the ceremony marking the centenary of the CPC,General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed its great founding spirit,which is the logic consequence of adherence to the theory of Marxism,conclusion after summarizing the Party’s glorious struggle journey over the past century,and epoch demand to develop strong spirit of the whole Party to realize the second centenary goal.The great founding spirit has rich connotations which are not only the quenching of the pioneers’practice of Party building but also the agglomeration of the Party’s long-term practice of struggles through revolution,construction and reform.The relationship between the great founding spirit and the other series of Party spirits are like“source”and“flow”horizontally,“trunk”and“branches”vertically,“class”and“sections”from the subordinative perspective,and“embodiment”and“special forms”of Chinese ethos from the viewpoint of historical culture.All the spirits have jointly developed a line of inspiring principles for Chinese Communists.The inheritance and development of the great founding spirit has enabled the Party to complete glorious centenary journey and will continue to provide it with spiritual strength to unite the people for achieving the second centenary goal.
