“红”与red文化内涵分析及其对英语教学的启示

摘要 汉语“红”与英语red都是常用词,英语教学中常把他们作为对等词来处理,认为他们的指称意义相同,象征意义和文化内涵意义不同。通过探讨汉语“红”与英语red的同与异,比较其文化内涵意义,探讨其形成原因,发现他们指称意义存在差异,象征意义和文化内涵意义差异性显著。认为这种比较分析对英语教学至关重要,且具有启示作用,即:英语教学应从历史的维度、比较的角度、文化的高度来设计和实施,英语教学应注意词义多样性与词义联系性,兼顾语言的工具性和人文性,突出学科育人价值。这是英语教学的关键。 The Chinese character“Hong”and the English word“red”are commonly used words,and are often regarded as equivalents in English teaching,having the same referential meaning but different symbolic meaning and cultural connotations.Though discussing the similarities and differences between the Chinese “Hong”and English word“red”,and comparing their cultural connotations and exploring the causes of formation,it is found that they have differences in referential meanings and significant differences in cultural symbolic meanings and connotations.It is believed that this that this comparative analysis is of great importance to English teaching and plays an enlightening role in English teaching,that is,English teaching should be designed and implemented from the perspectives of history,comparison and culture;English teaching should pay attention to the diversity and connection of word meanings,giving consideration to the instrumentality and humanity of the language,and emphasizing the value of subject education.This is the key to English teaching.
