On the Origin and Finalization of Tune Pattern“Nice Garden”

【园林好】是中国古代戏曲中常见的曲牌之一,而“园林好”这一文学语言在明代以前的文学作品中亦有相当丰富之应用。从“园林好”这一文学语言在历代文学作品中的称引状况来看,曲牌【园林好】有着较为清晰的发展脉络:1.曲牌【园林好】取自陶渊明名句“静念园林好,人间良可辞”;2.曲牌【园林好】是戏曲原创曲调,创调之后,从元至明而定型;3.以【园林好】为例,曲牌有一个缓慢但较为明晰的定型过程,这个过程与我国戏曲文学的发展趋势是基本保持一致的。

“Nice Garden”is one of the commonly-used tune patterns in ancient Chinese operas,and the literary language of“Nice Garden”has also been widely used in literary works before the Ming Dynasty.By studying the literary-work citations of“Nice Garden”in terms of literary language throughout the previous dynasties,tune pattern“Nice Garden”has a relatively clear context of development:1.The tune pattern“Nice Garden”derived from Tao Yuanming's famous line“reading quietly in a nice garden,detached from the worldly business”.2.The tune pattern“Nice Garden”originated directly from traditional operas.After the tune was created,it was finalized during the Yuan and Ming Dynasties.3.Taking“Nice Garden”as an example,the tune pattern has a slow but clear finalization process,which is basically consistent with the development trend of Chinese operatic literature.
