摘要
破坏事件作为组织负效应的研究分支被组织创新领域研究广泛关注,近期关于创新理论与组织非契约治理方面的研究认为,破坏事件的发生能够在一定程度上促进组织适应性;另一方面,前期社会网络研究认为其网络节点仅仅具备一个性质且节点本身的属性多为同构,然而近期越来越多的学者指出基于网络节点的不同性质一个组织内至少有两个关于创新的网络:研究者构成的社会网络与知识元素构成的知识网络。由此研究利用国家知识产权局专利检索与分析系统2014—2017年人工智能产业专利数据信息构建在知识—关系网络双重结构特征的情境下破坏事件对组织适应性的不同影响研究。实证结果表明,知识—关系网络结构洞与中心性对破坏事件与组织适应性的促进作用存在不同程度的调节作用。研究结论有利于理解不同类型网络结构特征下破坏事件促进组织柔性提升组织竞争力的原因,并为企业如何利用知识—关系网络解耦结构在组织变革中存活与提升组织适应性提供理论依据。
Firms need to continuously adaptation remain competitive in rapid and unpredictable changes in the environment.Furthermore,previous studies have highlighted that firms acquired knowledge and collaborate from their social network which play a vital role to organization adaptation.Building on those research,combine with social network theory,this study introduce and underscore the importance of disruption events on organization adaptation embedded in knowledge network and collaboration network structure.This study emphasize the importance of full understanding of organization adaptation in complex environment.According to the nature reflection between external environment and organization adaptation,drawing on resource-based theory and social network theory,this study examined the impact of disruption events on organization adaptation in different knowledge network and collaboration network structure.This study used the patent retrieval and analysis system of the state intellectual property office of the People’s Republic of China to construct the artificial intelligence industry patent data information from 2014 to 2017 in the context of the dual structure characteristics of knowledge-collaboration network to explore the different impacts of disruption events on organizational adaptability.The empirical results shows that the holes and centrality of knowledge-collaboration network structure have different moderating effects on the promotion of disruption events and organizational adaptability.The research conclusion is helpful to understand the reasons why disruption events promote organizational flexibility and enhance organizational competitiveness under different types of network structure characteristics,and provides theoretical basis for enterprises to use knowledge-collaboration network decoupling structure to survive and improve organizational adaptability in organizational transformation.First,the finding confirms that disruption events has a positive effect on organization adapation.This reveals that an appropriate disruption events is beneficial to organization adapation.Second,the results indicate that structural hole in the firm’s knowledge network negatively to the relationship of disruption events and organization adapation which consist with our theoretical development.However,the structural holes in the firm’s collaboration network has no significant moderating effect on the relationship between disruption events and organization adapation.Third,the finding suggests that lower degree centrality in firm’s collaboration network are benefits for organization adapation.As a consequence,disruption events forester organization adapation differently during the disparate knowledge network and collaboration network structure context.The research shows that:first,the establishment of the interaction mechanism of innovative organization knowledgecollaboration network framework is particularly important.In the empirical study of this article,the knowledge elements as nodes,the elements connections as ties consisted knowledge network and the researchers as nodes,the relationships between researchers as ties consisted collaboration network,which those two networks’structural hole and degree centrality are totally different.This conclusion enriches the social network structure of some extent,especially the deep understanding of multiple network structure.Second,to improve the organizational adaptability,it’s better to choose a heterogeneous and innovative organizational knowledge-collaboration network.Knowledge network and collaboration network in an innovative organization has decoupling characteristics and plays a regulatory effect in promoting the effect of disruption events and organizational adaptability.However,this study verifies that the structural hole and degree centrality in knowledge networks and the adaptability of centrality in the face disruption factors,which provides new insight into understanding the theory of organizational governance from the perspective of social networks.Third,the occurrence of disruption events can improve the organizational adaptability to a certain extent.Empirical research in this study confirms that disruption events through different social network collaboration-knowledge structures can bring new opportunities for organizational flexibility and organizational adaptability.This is due to the flow of core members,the change or extreme events of technology and tasks are dependent on organizational decision path,strong connections,damage of existing learning experience,and also bring heterogeneous knowledge,research of relationships and weak connections,which can partly help organizations occupy a place in environmental turmoil.Therefore,the occurrence of disruption events can improve the organizational adaptability to some extent and enrich the new understanding of the disruption innovation theory and the organizational negative effect.
