A study on the Technological Characteristics of Shanxi Huo Ware in Jin and Yuan Dynasties

霍器一词最早见于明代曹昭《格古要论》,是对山西霍州窑瓷器的简称,由于是地方窑口,学者常常忽略其独立性,把它纳入河北定窑系来研究。针对霍器与定器之间的关联和区别以及霍器自身的特征,运用文献调查法、田野调查法、比较研究法等方法,对霍器的器型、釉色、芒口、烧制、胎质等进行综合分析。研究表明,霍器具有器型小巧、釉色白润、口沿无芒、支钉烧制、胎质轻薄的工艺特征,其中霍器与定器在器型、芒口、烧制、胎质、印花、题款、外壁、内底、圈足上都有区别而独成一派。

Huoqi was first seen in the Ming Dynasty Cao Zhao’s gegu Yaolun,which is the abbreviation of Shanxi Huozhou kiln porcelain.Because it is a local kiln,scholars often ignore its independence and bring it into Hebei Ding kiln system to study.What is the relationship between Huo ware and Ding ware?What are the differences?What are the characteristics of Huo ware itself?By using the methods of literature survey,field investigation and comparative research,the author comprehensively analyzes Huo ware’s type,glaze color,awn mouth,firing,and tire texture.The research shows that Huo ware has the technological characteristics of small size,white glaze color,awn mouth edge,nail firing,and light tire texture Among them,Huo ware and Ding ware are different in shape,awn mouth,firing,tire quality,printing,inscription,outer wall,inner bottom and ring foot.
