Discussion on the Wood Characterized by Bending and Straightening of Associate Chief Physician Wang Shunzhi

王老认为:以古文语法来释木曰曲直,可译为:木类物质表现为曲和直2种运动状态;用哲学和科学来析木曰曲直,木类物质运动的方式为直线和曲线2种方式,具有双向无限延伸性,或突破性及创新性;以传统医理来解木曰曲直,以“曲”属阴,“直”属阳来阐释肝脏生理和病理,来说明肝脏是阴阳同为一体的,具有双向无限延伸性,或突破性归属木类物质。以及与五行之“木”相应的五化之“生”就是具有突破各种限制能力,或突破性;以应象思维来谈谈木曰曲直,木类物质之神是通过木类物质表现为曲线和直线的运动方式,具有双向无限延伸性,或突破性。

Wang Shunzhi believed that according to the grammar of ancient Chinese,wood characterized by bending and straightening can be translated as follows:wood substance shows two kinds of moving states,curved and straight.Analysis with philosophy and science wood characterized by bending and straightening means that movement of wood substance is in the form of straight line and curve,which has bidirectional infinite extensibility,or breakthrough and innovation.From the perspective of traditional culture and medical theory,bending belongs to yin and straightening belongs to yang to show that the liver is both yin and yang,having bi-directional infinite extensibility,or breakthrough,can be vested in wood substance.And corresponding to wood of five elements,birth of five variations has the ability to break through all kinds of restrictions,or breakthrough.The author discussed wood characterized by bending and straightening with thinking method of image,the god of wood substance shows curve and straight line movement mode through wood material,which has bi-directional infinite extensibility,or breakthrough.
