Xu Ming Decoction,a prescription of traditional Chinese medicine that is famous for treating wind diseases(diseases caused by pathogenic wind),Xu Ming Decoction was often seen,with different compatibility of medicines and dosage,in the books of medical prescriptions from the Jin dynasty to the Tang dynasty.The popular of Xu Ming Decoction may be related to people’s fear of wind diseases in the Middle Ages of China.Due to its record in He Ji Ju Fang(《和剂局方》Formulary of the Bureau of Pharmacy)and ZHANG Yuansu’s improvement,Xu Ming Decoction became a classic prescription and was frequently cited by later generations.Doctors’reflection on its"debilitating effect"and the theoretical development of wind diseases resulted in a decline of the impact of Xu Ming Decoction in the health care for elite.However,in the medical care for the civilian,Xu Ming Decoction was still the good choice for the treatment of the stroke.
