Objective To study the effect of warm vertical gutta-percha compaction and iRoot SP cold lateral condensation for C-shaped root canal filling in the treatment of endodontic disease. Methods A total of 86 patients with endodontic disease were divided into reference group and experimental group according to different treatment method, with 43 cases in each group. The reference group received warm vertical gutta-percha compaction for C-shaped root canal filling, and the experimental group received iRoot SP cold lateral condensation for C-shaped root canal filling. The filling effect, filling area, and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The filling efficiency 88.37%(38/43)in the reference group was higher than 86.05%(37/43)in the experimental group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The filling area in the experimental group was(95.63±2.53)%,which was not statistically significant compared with(96.15±2.58)%in the reference group(P>0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions 16.28%in the reference group was higher than 11.63%in the experimental group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Both warm vertical gutta-percha compaction and iRoot SP cold lateral condensation for C-shaped root canal filling can achieve ideal filling effect, and it is worthy of promotion and application.
