Objective To investigate the relationship between cardio-cerebrovascular complications and mean platelet volume(MPV)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 283 T2DM patients were selected. They were divided into T2DM group(n=122)and(T2DM+CCVD)group(n=161).General information and the biochemical indexes of each group were analyzed. Results Compared with the T2DM group, age, course of disease,BMI,SBP,hS-CRP,FPG,TC,TG,LDL-C,SUA,HbA1 c and MPV were all higher in T2DM+CCVD group, while HDL-C was lower than that in T2DM group.Pearson correlation analysis showed that MPV was positively correlated with course of disease,HDL-C and PDW,and negatively correlated with TG in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with cardio-cerebrovascular complications.Regression analysis showed that:the course of the disease,SBP,MPV were risk factors for cardio-cerebrovascular complications in type 2 diabetes,HDL-C is its protection factor,PDW,HDL-C and LDL-C were independent influencing factors of MPV.Conclusion MPV was significantly increased in T2DM+CCVD group, and may be a risk factor for CCVD in T2DM patients.
