Choe Seo-hae’s Experience in China and His Novel Creation

为了摆脱生活的苦难而背井离乡移居到中国的崔曙海,在中国确认了底层人民贫困与苦难的普遍性,从而对剥削与压迫的阶级属性有了较同一时期的朝鲜文人更为深刻的理解和认识。通过中国体验,崔曙海练就了在自我与他者、自我与自我、他者与他者之间定位自己,寻找真正自我价值的方法。中国体验拓宽了崔曙海对朝鲜现代文学的视域及想象力,也增强了其艺术性和生命力。

Choe Seo-hae,who moved to China to escape the miserable life,recognized the universal poverty and pains among the underprivileged,and thus had a deeper understanding of the class nature of exploitation and oppression than his contemporaries in Korea.Choe’s experience in China helps him to identify the relations between himself and others and find out the way to realize his self-worth.Moreover,the experience broadens his horizon and imagination about the modern Korean literature,and thus provides Korean literature with artistry and vitality.
