基于语料库的TED气候演讲的批评隐喻分析

A critical metaphor analysis of TED climate speech based on corpus

本文以概念隐喻为理论基础,采用Charteris-Black提出的批评隐喻分析3步骤对TED公开演讲中的气候类演讲进行分析。在隐喻识别过程中,首先借助语料库软件的帮助识别出5种概念隐喻,分别是旅途隐喻、建筑隐喻、战争隐喻、疾病隐喻和植物隐喻;其次结合语境对隐喻进行解释发现演讲者通过把抽象的气候问题具体化来构建意识形态;最后隐喻阐释过程中发现气候演讲中的概念隐喻具有"表明立场"和"说服"功能。

Based on the Conceptual Metaphor Theory,this study analyzes the TED climate speech according to three steps of Critical Metaphor Analysis proposed by Charteris-Black.In the process of metaphor identification,this study identifies five conceptual metaphors with the help of corpus software,and they are JOURNEY metaphor,BUILDING metaphor,WAR metaphor,ILLNESS metaphor,and PLANT metaphor.In the process of metaphor explanation according to context,this study finds that speakers construct their ideologies by concreting the abstract climate issues.Finally,in the process of metaphor interpretation,this study finds that conceptual metaphors in climate speech have the functions of“stance-making”and“persuasion”.
