摘要
露易斯·厄德里克的小说《拉罗斯》打破物理时空界限,将拉罗斯的成长置于两个家庭互动之间,置于与同名祖先互动之间,置于与周围环境的互动之间。小说刻画了历代拉罗斯的成长以及印第安社区历史变迁。小说中的互动成长观强调历史时间具有积极因素,符合巴赫金对于新型教育小说的定义,同时也反映作者信仰传统以及关注普世的族裔观。
Breaking up the boundary of physical space-time,louise Erdrich's LaRose positions LaRose's growth within interactions between two families,between his namesake ancestors and between his surroundings.The novel depicts the successive generation growth of the LaRoses and the historical transformation of the Native American community.The interactive growth conception in the novel,which emphasizes the positive element of historical time,is in line with Bakhtin's definition of neo-buildungsroman.Meanwhile,it reflects the author's ethnic view of belief in Native American tradition as well as concern about the world.
