Between November and December in 1944,Joint Warfare Operations Staff of the Allies in Japan interrogated a Japanese prisoner of war,who had worked in Jiujiang Detachment of Unit 1644 in Nanjing.Based on the statistics and reports he had seen whilst assigned to the headquarters and his observation at daily work, the prisoner of war presented the organization chart of Unit 1644 and testified its crimes of cooperating with Unit 731 to launch bacteriological warfare against China. The archives concerning Japanese bacteriological warfare declassified by the United States reveal some historical facts of Unit 1644,such as its total scale, organization, staff and its cooperation with Unit 731 to launch bacteriological warfare against China, which makes up for the lack of information related to Unit 1644's engagement in bacteriological warfare and has great academic research value and utilization value.
