陈子昂民族观论析

On the Ethnic Viewpoints of Chen Ziang

陈子昂主要生活在唐朝与周边少数民族关系较为紧张的武后时期,又有两次随军出征的生活经历,他以强烈的士人责任感创作了不少涉及民族关系的诗文。作为一个忠于朝廷的大臣,在面对敌对的边疆民族时,陈子昂鼓励朋友要有必胜的信心,表现出昂扬之情;同时,由于义愤,他对这些民族难掩鄙夷之情;面对严峻的战事,他更多地表达了对边疆的深沉忧虑。陈子昂的民族观主张对边疆民族要“来能怀”“去能制”,是一切皆以苍苍群生的安危为出发点的。

Chen Ziang mainly lived in the late period of the Wu Zhou Dynasty,when the relationship between the dynasty and the surrounding minorities was strained.Having gone along with the army twice,Chen created many poems and prose about ethnic relations out of his sense of duty as a scholar bureaucrat.As a grand minister loyal to his country,Chen encouraged his friends to build confidence in victory to defeat the minorities that encroached on the empire.Meanwhile,out of righteous indignation,he despised these minorities and expressed deep concern about the brutal battles.Moreover,his ethnic viewpoints were completely focused on the needs of the people,advocating that the empire should be able to appease minorities when they pledge allegiance to the empire and conquer them when they betray it.
