Translator’s Voice and Cultural Identity in Xu Yuanchong’s Translation of Du Fu’s Poems

在新时代新形势下,建设文化强国是目标,提高文化软实力是基础。典籍文献是中华文化最宝贵的财富,中国诗歌是典籍中最重要的一部分,诗歌英译本质量直接关乎中国诗歌是否能真正"走出去",而译者的文化身份和翻译能力对典籍译本的质量和外宣的成效有着很深的影响效果。本文以许渊冲英译杜甫诗歌为例,探寻英译诗中的译者声音,以期对我国典籍跨文化传播模式的构建起到一定的理论指导建议。

In the new era and new situation,building a cultural power is the goal,and improving cultural soft power is the foundation.Classic literature is the most precious wealth of Chinese culture,and Chinese poetry is the most important part of classic literature.The quality of English translation of poetry is directly related to whether Chinese poetry can really"go out".The cultural identity and translation ability of translators have a profound impact on the quality of translation and the effectiveness of publicity.Taking Xu Yuanchong’s English translation of Du Fu’s poems as an example,this paper explores the translator’s voice in the English translation of poems,hoping to provide some theoretical guidance and suggestions for the construction of cross-cultural communication mode of Chinese classics.
