Referring to the research paradigm of Jia Ning et al.(2018),we examined whether traditional Chinese medical terms have spatial metaphorical mappings and the specific relationships of metaphorical mappings.Using a sentence priming paradigm, experiment 1 first presented declarative sentences containing spatial change information, and subjects were asked to classify and judge the subsequently presented traditional Chinese medical terms. In order to verify whether the subjects fully processed the spatial change information in the declarative sentences, experiments 2 and 3 required the subjects to focus only on the location information before or after the spatial change indicated by the declarative sentences, like the preceding or the following spatial term.On the basis of experiment 1,experiment 4 increased the sentence-word interval. It was found that the interaction between the spatial information of declarative sentences and the syndromes and symptoms of diseases was significant(P<0.05).The study showed that the spatial metaphors of traditional Chinese medical terms have psychological reality while the metaphorical mapping is unstable. At the same time, spatial metaphors have a matching-up effect, and the key to match suppression or match facilitation is the competition and release of cognitive resources.
