The minimum ground clearance is not only related to style and harmony of vehicle,but also directly related to vehicle performance.The setting method and design process of minimum ground clearance in the process of automobile development were introduced.Combined with the relevant elements in the design and development of minimum ground clearance,the effects of benchmarking analysis,manufacturing tolerance,attitude attenuation,wind resistance performance and modeling requirements on the minimum ground clearance were discussed,so as to formulate a reasonable target value of minimum ground clearance.
