Threshold Writing of"Angels in White"--Medical Humanity in Bloodletting&Miraculous Cure by Vincent Lam

《放血与奇疗》(Bloodletting&Miraculous Cure,2006,中译本为《停止呼吸》)是加拿大华裔作家林浩聪(Vincent Lam,1974—)的处女作。基于阈界理论分析小说中医护人员的身份阈界、意识阈界和身体阈界,发现其在行医过程中面临精神斗争、道德考验和生死抉择,这恰恰体现了医护人员的职业素养,个人品行以及人生信念。林浩聪也以此表达自身的医学人文关怀:对人体及人体病征的关注,以及对当今医疗行业与现象的分析和建议。

Bloodletting&Miraculous Cures(2006)is the first literary work of Chinese Canadian writer,Vincent Lam(1974-).According to the"threshold"theory,the identity threshold,consciousness threshold and body threshold which medical personnel experience in their working practices reflect their inner struggle,ethical trial and life-and-death choice,being the epitomes of their professionalism,personal qualities and living creeds.Vincent Lam,through depicting the threshold phenomena of the medical personnel,extends his concern to patients'bodies and symptoms;meanwhile,he also analyses some underlying problems in current medical domain and gives his opinions about some existing medical practices,which shows his consideration of medical humanity in the modern world.
