The Scientific Connotation of “Two Nevers” and Its Contemporary Value

"两个决不会"原理是科学社会主义基本原理,包含着丰富的内容。一个社会形态只要其生产关系还能够以较快的速度推动生产力发展,这个社会形态的灭亡就不会立即出现;社会形态所能容纳的全部生产力指的是所有该社会形态国家的整体的生产力状况,不是仅仅指一个国家的生产力或者几个国家的生产力。任何一个社会形态都有与之相适应的社会生产力,手推磨产生的是封建主的社会,蒸汽磨产生的是工业资本家的社会;只要是在物质存在条件已经成熟的条件下,与这种物质条件相适应的社会形态就会产生,"物质存在条件"不能简单地等同于生产力。正确理解了"两个决不会"原理,我们就能坚定理想的主心骨,筑牢信念的压舱石,保持强大的战略定力。

The principle of "two nevers" is the basic principle of scientific socialism,which contains a wealth of contents. As long as the productive relations of a social form can still promote the development of productive forces at a relatively fast rate,the demise of this social form will not appear immediately;the total productive forces that a social form can accommodate refers to the overall productive forces of all countries of the social form,not just the productive forces of one country or several countries. Any social form has its corresponding social productive forces;a hand mill produces the society of feudal lords,a steam mill produces the society of industrial capitalists;as long as the conditions of material existence are mature,a social form corresponding to such material conditions will arise,and "the conditions of material existence" cannot be simply equated with the productive forces. With a correct understanding of the principle of "two nevers",we can firmly establish the backbone of our ideals,build the ballast of our beliefs,and maintain a strong strategic determination.
